We had the pleasure of hearing Bailey sing at the Camp Arrowhead closing ceremonies for 2nd term 2006. Out of thousands of people, Bailey actually made it in to sing for Randy, Paula & Simon. She was asked to sing two songs! In the end, Simon must have been grouchy that day ... and Bailey did not make it to the next round. Don't stop trying Bailey ... we are all behind you here at Camp Arrowhead!

It is with the deepest and saddest regrets that I must inform you that the lights are a bit dimmer here at Camp Arrowhead with the loss of one of our dearest Pawnee sisters ... Chelsea Lapka. She was involved in an accident that has taken her beautiful radiance from us and given her to God. Everyone please take a moment out of your day to say a prayer for Chelsea's family. Camp Arrowhead will never be the same without her.
We were so surprised and excited to get a visit from Pawnees Jennie & Chelsea on December 31, 2005! Chelsea came all the way from Reno, NV to visit Jennie in Harlingen, TX. Thanks to Jennie's mother, Lorie, a trip to Hunt was hard to deny when both girls gave her their best 'puppy dog' look! (Pictures are thumbnails ... double click on picture to enlarge. Who didn't miss Anne Sophie this summer? No one!! Anne Sophie was a Pawnee (Big Chief too) from 2002 - 2004. One of our most loved campers ... and she came all the way from France. She spent a wonderful summer in 2005 with Julio Iglesias and his family (Marbella, South Spain). Doesn't she look fabulous?
Here is our counselor (lifeguard & cabin 7) Maddie (2003) with her boyfriend for 2 years, Ali. She just visited Venice, Italy & France with Ali. She has 1 more year of college left before she explores the United States again. Meet our Camp Arrowhead Mascots "Pawnee" and "Kickapoo" AKA "Poo".
We want to take the opportunity to thank the following people from the bottom of our hearts. For without them and the love of God ... Camp Arrowhead would not be here. A special thanks goes to Floyd & Madge Young for providing the financial support we needed to get through the rough times. Their faith in us is eternal and their love never ends. We want to thank Jim & Helen Gambrell for their undying support & love for Camp Arrowhead. Jim, thank you for all of the wonderful legal advice when we needed it the most. We also want to thank them for the wonderful Hewlett-Packard Office Jet G85 printer/fax/copier/scanner. This HP machine, like them, can do it all. Thank you Helen, for your contribution to the Camp Arrowhead legacy by allowing us to have old Camp Arrowhead pictures and memorabilia. We want to send huge thank you to Keith & Gretchen Asbury for their never-ending support & love for Camp Arrowhead also, but mostly for their friendship. A larger thanks for letting us borrow and love their horses Sterling, Chesapeake, Comanche and Scout. Thank you goes to our favorite couple, Bill & Blythe Thomas, for buying much needed scopes for our rifles. We also want to thank Mr. Bill for his ukulele playing during our vespers services during camp season. The place always brightens up when they arrive. Thank you for always being there when we need you. Thank you to G.C. & Nell Robinson, who are always available for a helping hand. Thank you G.C. for the office desk that Kelli can now spread out on. Thanks to Nell for the mexican heather and gold lantana plants that we have added to our landscaping. Thank you Nell, for all of the lifetime of camp memories. Thank you to Tom & Elaine Terrell who have kept their faith in the family coming back home to Camp Arrowhead. How can I thank Elaine for providing sooooo much information on Camp Arrowhead's traditions? Tom, thank you for all of the legal advice when we thought all hope was lost. Thank you to Tom & Elaine Terrell, Elizabeth Terrell and Evelyn Shamaly for the new pecan tree to replace the old one that died behind the camp office. It is budding and beautiful and full of life. Thanks to Bill &Tracy Moore for allowing us the pleasure of having their horse Sleepy help us this summer. Every girl fell in love with Sleepy. Thank you also for the discounts you gave to the Camp Arrowhead campers when we visited the rodeo last summer. Thank you to Patrick & Stephanie Young for allowing us to borrow and love their horses Dancer, Rosie and Legacy last summer. A huge thank you goes to Stephen & Sherri Bartell who have given unselfishly of themselves, helping whenever and wherever they can.
